So What's Next?

It's that time of year, Spring, where suddenly everything is rushing along at breakneck speed. Soon it will be summer and we are already more than half way through our IF! Festival of 9 plays about Barrow life - A Love Song to Barrow.

We kicked off the Festival in November with 25 Words  - a true story of the Lowden Family in World War 2, and followed it in January with two shows about money at The Kill One, Life Hacks and Follow The Money. March was a crazy time with three shows produced in three different venues: Sapeurs at The Town Hall, Runaway Blooms at Dowdales School and Unboxing at The Meeting Place. If you missed the performances, you can read about them here. A big shout out to all our partners, collaborators, community drama group, and writers!!!

So what's next?

In July we are proud to present Where's Your Head At?, a show about the joys of being wired differently - a check-up from the neck up about Autism. Our Youth Theatre has devised this and will perform it on 11th July at Barrow Library. Tickets here

Coming up in September is The Unseen Child, created 3 years ago in partnership with Carer Support Furness. The Unseen Child is the story of a young carer, who escapes his daily life through fantasy worlds and battling mythical beasts in a quest to keep his family together. The performance features puppets and projection and is a genuinely magical story. 3rd and 4th September at Signal Exhibition Space, The Cooke's Studios. Tickets here

And finally, the last project will be 67,000 Barrovians Can't Be Wrong. How do you sum up a place? It's impossible! So this is an impression told in around 40 tiny plays. Bite sized chunks making up a mosaic picture of our town and its people. Alongside the event will be an exhibition of the IF! Festival.
