Being part of these projects has brought me closer to the multi-faceted culture of my home-town, both in its history and what it has come to be in the present-day. I am incredibly proud
The Company was formed in 1997, to provide a place in Barrow-in-Furness for people, especially young people, to come and make original, new drama based on their own ideas, through improvising, playing, writing and generally messing around.
Thousands of Barrow people have been involved with us over the years, some for fun, some to learn and some for work.
Theatre Factory runs all kinds of projects: drama, animation, writing, digital and sound. We make stories with people of all ages and backgrounds. Their ideas, your ideas, are at the heart of everything we do.
We are interested in how the Arts can help people and communities grow stronger. We tell real stories of real people and hope to build ‘pride of place’ for everyone, working with people across our community to build resilience and happiness for all.
They are in my opinion a much-needed artistic bastion for Barrow and its people

You can find details of how to get involved on the Projects Page here

People enjoy events that celebrate each other . . . the focus on local stories has had a big impact on the Barrow Community.
Our door is always open . . . well most of the time it is . . . so feel free to drop in and talk to us if you are passing by or contact us through this website here.
All the best, Rachel
If anything, being part of Theatre Factory has helped me reconnect with a part of myself I thought I’d left behind. It’s given me confidence and purpose. I’m so grateful for the trust and the encouragement.
Thanks to all our funding partners for their support for our work.
